Job Duties
$5,000 Sign-On Bonus or up to $10,000 Student Loan Repayment may be available for eligible new hires
Provides Mental Health services to inmates including crisis intervention, screening, psychological assessment and evaluation, psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and release planning under the supervision and direction of the Mental Health Clinician Senior. Screens, tracks and monitors inmates with Mental Health service needs in general population and Restorative Housing. Involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of Mental Health services, policies, and programs at the facility. May be involved with special units or programs. Serves as a consultant to Administration, Security, Treatment and Community Corrections staff. Provides in-service and other training.
Minimum Qualifications
Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders
Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans
Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling/therapy
Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices
Demonstrated ability to provide training
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Additional Considerations
Advanced knowledge, skills, and training in Psychology (clinical or counseling), Social Work, or equivalent experience in related human services field
Ability to fulfill professional tasks of a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of Virginia
Experience providing Mental Health services in a correctional, forensic, outpatient or other setting
