The Memory Care Director will ensure the highest possible quality of dementia care, services, and resident satisfaction. This will be accomplished while maintaining maximum occupancy and smooth efficient execution of operation within budgeted expenses, with a focus on consistently providing excellent Customer Service and continuous enhancement of the Resident Experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Responsible for ensuring that each resident is receiving the appropriate care and services as identified by his/her physician and/or by the Community via the use of an appropriate appraisal tool.
- Responsible for ensuring Personal Service Plans and Focus Areas/Interventions are accurate and updated in a timely fashion.
- Provide training for, and maintain all quality assurance standards for Infection Control, Standard Precautions, Sharps Management, Outbreak Management, and Worker's Compensation.
- Manage clinical components of Home Office Reporting.
- Address resident/family requests and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Communicate with families, physicians and outside healthcare services any resident concerns and changes in condition in a timely manner.
- Ensure that Family Care Conferences are being completed on a consistent and timely basis.
- Update and maintain residents' Service Plans including all Focus/Interventions.
- Lead and/or participate in Resident Care Conferences.
- Identify training needs and ensure timely completion and documentation of all RCFE and CSL education for department.
- Continuously evaluate skill-set, competency, and safe work practices of department staff.
- Manage staff schedules.
- Perform payroll edits. Adjust payroll records as appropriate. Perform end of period payroll review.
- Manage inventory of supplies.
- Update all Monthly Fees to ensure that services are being charged as appropriate.
- Maintain working knowledge of, and compliance with CSL Policies and Procedures and State regulations.
- Understand all emergency protocols, respond to emergencies as appropriate, and provide direction for associates during emergencies when needed.
- Understand and maintain Quality Assurance standards in the Memory Care Program.
- Report accidents, injuries and/or incidents immediately to the Associate Director and Executive Director along with all the appropriate documentation.
- Coordinate and evaluate activities to ensure balanced and adequate programming.
- Formulate progressive programming designed to meet changing needs of the community and residents with dementia, Alzheimer's and/or other forms of memory impairment.
- Oversee the dining experience in Memory Care by ensuring all logs, reports, and forms are completed per policy and procedure.
- Is responsible for educating the care staff in safe serve methods and proper food handling.
- Coordinate with the Chef regarding all special diet requests, and ensure that proper documentation for each order is obtained.
- Direct collection, analysis, and interpretation of data significant to program planning and budget preparation.
- Ensure daily schedule of programming is run on time and according to monthly Newsletter.
- Implement all programming policies and procedures while maintaining a therapeutic Memory Care environment.
- Manage a programming budget and ensure all residents engage in meaningful programs.
- Provide employee evaluations per Human Resource Protocols.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit and the Memory Care Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Five years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- According to Title 22 requirements must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Current First Aid Certifications
- DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance must be complete prior to initial presence in the Community
- Health screening and negative TB test (must be less than six {6} month old).
