JOB SUMMARY:
The primary goal of the Member Services Associate (MSA) is to help grow the membership base of Bok Tower Gardens during peak membership opportunities. The MSA will engage visitors as they arrive and/or leave the Gardens to encourage becoming members, process memberships, encourage upgrades and other gift opportunities, and assist current members with membership services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Generate membership sales based on performance metrics
- Process memberships accurately and efficiently via Point of Sale system
- Greets all visitors courteously and responds to questions/needs of visitors promptly
- Keeps informed of current and future Gardens events and activities
- Ensures Membership Sales area and cart is neat, updated with current information
- Associate is encouraged to suggest and implement enhancements to Membership program
- Support outreach activities such as telephone calls, emails and other efforts as appropriate
- Undertake other membership duties as assigned by department staff

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exemplify superior customer service skills in a service-oriented environment and to project a positive, professional image to the public
- Ability to proactively engage with prospective members
- Excellent time management skills to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously under a variety of deadlines and other constraints
- Ability to understand and interpret instruction to work effectively and efficiently independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team; natural problem-solving ability
- Attention to detail and accuracy with regard to handling data and executing reports
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Proficiency in Microsoft office programs; preference given for candidates with donor database experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in sales and public contact; excellent human relations skills to deal effectively with visitors in person or on the telephone a plus
- Previous cash-handling and computer experience; database experience helpful
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Continual communication with staff, volunteers, visitors, and management
- Position includes weekends, holidays including occasional evening work related to membership to provide staff support for special events
- Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, crouching, or light lifting (up to 30 lbs.)
- Continual or Prolonged periods of time standing and periodic walking through the Garden
- Ability to work outside in Florida weather year round 4-6 hr shifts or longer for special events
