The MWRD Employees' Credit Union, serving the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, is currently looking for a Member Service Representative (MSR). The MSR is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position reporting to the branch manager.
MWRD Employees' Credit Union has been in operation for over 70 years and continues to meet its members' changing needs in a secure environment while maintaining financial stability. This position will be required to work at the Chicago and Stickney Branch locations and be responsible for providing exceptional Member Services including transactions, account maintenance, answering member questions and suggesting additional products in a professional and courteous, prompt, and efficient manner. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing outstanding Member Service and maintaining strong professional relationships with members.
- Proficient in performing member transactions including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, mail transactions, opening of new accounts, balancing of member accounts, processing of payroll deductions, transfers, and any requests from the member. Maintain confidentiality.
- Promote increased usage of credit union products and services.
- Balance teller terminal at the end of each shift. Research and resolve any discrepancies. Prepare daily check deposit.
- Respond to members' inquiries. Resolve issues or refer to appropriate personnel.
Qualification Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Member Services, products and understanding of bookkeeping procedures.
- One to three years of retail/customer service experience, credit union or financial institution a plus.
- Operating knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Demonstrate an ability to provide outstanding Member Services and staff support plus the ability to work under and meet deadlines with multiple priorities.
- Demonstrate analytical accuracy and problem-solving skills, plus strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
- Must be fluent in English with excellent written and verbal skills. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
- Individuals must be able to successfully pass background and credit checks.
