POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Membership Coordinator, the Member Service Representative will deliver quality, prompt, and courteous service to members, guests, and participants of the communities we serve. The Member Service Representative will connect members and potential members with Y resources, programming and information through outstanding personalized service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(must be able to perform all duties and responsibilities of Member Service Attendant plus those listed below)
- Take personal accountability for the daily care of members as a first priority by personally engaging and building a network of relationships with members, on a consistent basis.
- Accurately process program registrations and process new memberships and membership updates in Daxko Operations; including cash transactions and maintenance of member records. Must also respond to inquiries by phone.
- Proficient in Cause Driven Tours to engage in relational selling while articulating the value of the Y to prospective members.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual or unresolved situations.
- Assist with meeting and exceeding satisfaction, sales, and retention goals; includes phone, email and in person outreach.
- Practice strong fiscal stewardship for execution of membership and financial policies and procedures of the Association.
- Utilize Listen First skills to understand what others are feeling and saying and respond to the needs of each specifically.
- Complete opening and closing procedures as directed by branch operations.
- Respond to emergency situations by adhering to the safety policies and procedures set for the Association.
- Accountable to the Membership Coordinator and Membership Director for execution of policies and procedures of the Association and all other duties as assigned.
- Be committed to the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee's Child Abuse/Neglect Prevention efforts as a mandatory reporter.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with customer service and sales experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a responsible, enthusiastic, and approachable person who is courteous, friendly and calm in providing quality Member Service in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in cooperation with a team and take input from multiple sources.
- Proficiency in web-based programs including Microsoft Outlook, Daxko Operations, Daxko Engage, Nationwide and Link
- Must exercise good judgment in decision making.
- Must be accurate in cash handling and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
- First Responder certification may be required within 60 days including gaining and maintaining CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, O2 and First Aid.
- Ability to work with diverse populations through effective written and verbal communication.
