Member Service Representative

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Processes transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, etc.
• Adheres to approved cash handling skills and ensures cash teller drawer is accurately balanced each day.
• Processes all service requests for members such as stop payments, check orders, address changes, card ordering, and other account maintenance.
• Answers all incoming calls in a professional, timely and courteous manner.
• Resolves complaints and account discrepancies.
• Promotes and cross-sells account products and services.
• Opens membership accounts, shares, certificates of deposit and IRAs.
• Assists with balancing of the vault and ATM.
• Follows credit union policies and procedures.

Other Duties:

• Attend meetings and training courses as necessary.
• Perform clerical and accounting support duties as necessary.
• Assist in other departments as necessary

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of a high school education
• Prior work experience in a customer service or related position
• Prior cash handling experience
• Excellent Member Service and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong cross-selling skills
• Basic keyboarding and data entry skills, including knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Intermediate mathematical skills
• A positive, professional image and a high degree of confidentiality in the workplace

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a financial institution
• Strong knowledge and understanding of financial products and services
• Prior experience in lending and/or collections
