POSITION DETAILS
Job Title: MEL Analyst I
Salary: Minimum of $55,000
- Salary is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons
Work Schedule: 40-hour work week
- LPHI offers traditional (M-F, 8 am-5 pm), flexible (for example, M-F 10 am-7pm), and compressed work schedules (for example, M-Th 8 am-7 pm). Schedule details finalized between employee and manager.
Location: This is a Louisiana-based, fully remote position with occasional (<10%) travel required
- LPHI maintains an office in New Orleans if the employee prefers to be hybrid or full-time in-office
- Employee must reside in Louisiana during the time of employment

Primary Relationships: The MEL Analyst I will primarily work with the MEL Program Director, MEL Managers and Coordinators and internal and external project partners.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The MEL Analyst I is integral to advancing the MEL team mission to lead and partner with communities to ensure that community members are thoughtfully engaged and represented in equity centered evaluation and research. Under the supervision of the MEL Senior Manager, the MEL Analyst I works cross-functionally to support MEL projects from externally funded sources and LPHI lead initiatives. One such project is the Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco Free Living (TFL), to which the MEL Analyst I is allocated at 40% of their full-time equivalent (FTE). The MEL Analyst I performs data collection, management, and analyses for multiple projects using a range of computer applications and data management systems. Activities include but are not limited to the development of analytic plans, plans sampling strategies, creating data collection tools such as online surveys, focus groups, and key informant interview guides. The MEL Analyst I Additionally, the MEL Analyst I also supports LPHI in the strategic advancement of its four priority areas: Racial Justice and Health Equity; Partnerships and Collaboration; A Healthier Louisiana; A Thriving Organization. The MEL Analyst I reports to the Senior MEL Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with LPHI staff to design appropriate analytic plans
- Assist in the planning and execution of monitoring and evaluation projects.
- Work collaboratively with internal colleagues as well as external partners
- Support qualitative and quantitative data collection.
- Ensure consistent use of evaluation and research protocols and best practices.
- Analyze and translate quantitative and qualitative data for internal and external audiences.
- Manage and clean large quantitative data sets.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
- Create data visualizations/translate data into stories as appropriate for diverse audiences.
- Assist in reporting and product development activities, including contributing to the development of dissemination materials, including manuscripts and presentations.
- Actively participate in MEL Team, TFL, Louisiana Cancer Research Center, and LPHI meetings.
- Participate in workgroups and strategic planning to further the mission of LPHI.
- Perform other duties as required.
ABOUT YOU
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required or equivalent experience, Master’s preferred
- 2+ years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning and/or research.
- Knowledge of and experience in quantitative and qualitative evaluation and research methodologies.
- Working knowledge of quantitative data analysis software (Stata, SAS, R, etc.)
- Working knowledge of qualitative data analysis software (Atlas.ti, NVIVO, etc.)
- Demonstrated skills in data management and visualization using Microsoft Excel or other platforms (Tableau, Power BI, Access, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability for occasional travel, which may be required.
