As a Medication Technician, you will be responsible for administering medications to patients under the supervision of a nurse or healthcare professional. Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Follow proper medication administration procedures and protocols
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Document medication administration accurately and timely
- Assist with other healthcare tasks as needed, such as taking vital signs or performing basic medical procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized medication cart or area
- Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic pharmacology principles
- Familiarity with acute care settings, nursing homes, or dementia care is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in medical documentation and record keeping
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
