HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Medical Technologist to fill an opening with a large and diverse health care provider that offers primary care, urgent care, specialty and surgical care, imaging and lab services, and virtual care in Seattle WA
Daily Responsibilities for Medical Technologist:
- Perform and report tests in chemistry, microbiology, serology, hematology, and urinalysis.
- Conducts established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, and reagents.
- Provides clinical orientation and technical support for new laboratory staff. Maintain reagent and supply inventory as assigned.
- Work as a team member within the laboratory and all other Polyclinic departments.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
Required Qualifications for Medical Technologist:
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related science degree
- Basic knowledge of routine hematology, coagulation, microbiology, serology, chemistry, urinalysis procedures
- Successful completion of a certification examination: MLS (ASCP) OR for a categorical technologist: a B.S. in science plus 2+ years of experience and a categorical certification exam (ASCP or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications for Medical Technologist:
- 1+ years of medical technology experience
