Under general direction of and in cooperation with the Chief of Staff and Hospital Medical Director, the Medical Staff Manager II/III will manage the systems for the Medical Staff Organization, which consists of over 700 physicians, dentists, podiatrists, psychologists, and other licensed, independent practitioners. The ideal candidate will be an effective manager who maintains a professional, pleasant, and respectful demeanor with all levels of staff in a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic environment. This person will have strong communication, interpersonal, and administrative/office skills, as well as substantial experience in a Medical Staff office, which is different from a doctor’s office in that a Medical Staff office is a liaison between Medical Staff members and Administration. PAYROLL TITLE: Staff/Services Manager II/III AGENCY/DEPARTMENT: Health Care Agency - Ventura County Medical Center EDUCATIONAL/BILINGUAL INCENTIVE: Possible educational incentive of 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree. Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill. Staff/Services Manager II/III are Management classifications and are not eligible for overtime compensation. Incumbents in these classifications are eligible for benefits at the MB4 level.The eligible list established from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future Regular (including Temporary and Fixed-term), Intermittent, and Extra Help vacancies. Responsibilities:
Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Manages/oversees the hospital’s Medical Staff services department operations and administrative staff;Coordinates Medical Staff committees, records meetings, and performs follow-up activities;Oversees credentialing/privileging and quality/peer review processes and implements best practices;Oversees agency’s delegated credentialing agreements with health plans and coordinates with enrollment team. Manages and maintains adherence to Medical Staff governing documents (bylaws, rules and regulations, department rules and regulations, privileging documents, etc.);Provides guidance to Medical Staff leadership regarding internal governing documents and accreditation/regulatory standards/requirements;Coordinates and participates in Medical Staff investigations and corrective actions;Coordinates activities and information related to the Medical Staff with other hospitals and agency departments;Participates in surveys/audits and implements departmental changes or corrections when applicable; andPerforms other related duties as required.
