We are currently looking for a Bilingual Medical Assistant/ Scribe to work in a fast pace environment. We are a practice that is committed to each of our patients and the medical community- to be the best center for pain medicine within the Greater Houston area. Our accomplished team of physicians are devoted to providing patients with the highest level of quality medical care.
Responsibilities:
- Preform provider documentation of patient information as dictated by the provider in a legible and clear manner, following all established local, state and federal guidelines for documentation and billing.
- Interviewing patients before the provider comes in the room for the actual consultation.
- Completes all documentation within a timely manner and communicates to provider when chart is complete and ready for review and sign off.
- Helping the providers during examinations including ; injections done in the office (joint injections, trigger point injections, botox etc.)
- Complete authorization for variety of things; medications, in office procedures, out patient procedures, imaging.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.
- Communicating with the physicians about questions/concerns when the patients call the office.
- Assisting in the procedure room when doing out patient injections. C- arm/ fluoroscopy experience is a plus.
Patient Care:
- Preform clinical intake of patients to include taking and recording vital signs and patient history.
- Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, exam preparation etc.
- Ensure the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff.
- Assist the provider with calling patients.
- Proper, concise and complete EMR documentation and paper based documentation and paper bases documentation for all clinical assessments and procedures.
- Comply with and follow all policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years clinical experience preferably in pain medicine or orthopedics
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations including OSHA and HIPPA requirements, and Patient Privacy Rule.
- Strong knowledge of computerized information system (EMR) used in business and clinical management settings.
- Strong commitment to customer service and excellence in healthcare.
- Experience in pain medicine a huge plus
- Bilingual/ Spanish speaking
- Local travel to satellite clinic locations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
