Medical Scheduler

We are looking for a Medical Procedure Scheduler for a busy gastroenterology office that can provide customer service over the phone and in person. Sets the tone for a positive experience. • Exhibits empathy, courtesy, competence, efficiency, and care
• Answer phones promptly and professionally
• Scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling procedures
• Registering patients
• Preparing patients charts
• Entering patient demographics into the database
• Accommodating various files and providing general office duties, e.g. data entry, faxing, scanning, etc.
• Acting as a liaison with patients and providers in a compassionate and kind manner
• Tending to client forms
• Addressing patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries
• Providing support in the management of patient medical records
• Replying to inquiries in a detail-oriented and effective manner, while corresponding with phone calls within minimum rings
• Obtain Insurance authorizations for all procedures being performed in and outside of the office
• Follow all HIPAA regulations

• Answering Multi-Line Phone System experience
• Minimum 2 years recent experience working in a hospital, clinic or doctor's office
• Excellent communication skills (Oral and written)
• Knowledge of MS Word and Outlook
• Previous experiencing using some form of medical software is preferred
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required
