- Maintain physical Medical Records.
- Update patients' electronic health records (EHR).
- Respond to ROI (release of information) requests for Medical Records.
- Validate requests and authorizations for the release of medical information.
- Ensure that clinical documentation of the services provided to our patients is correct.
- Prepare charts for patient visits.
- Follow company policy regarding the releasing of and obtaining Medical Records.
- Scan all received information in proper location in patients’ chart.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with regulatory guidelines and the specific policies of One GI.
- Understands the practice management system and is able look up information in the practice management system in order to help patients and outside clients.
- Purge charts as needed.
- Run patient recall reports according to set time frames and to send the corresponding letters to the patient or primary care physician.
- Provide physicians with a list of recalls for review and update and document recall per physician instruction as needed prior to sending out recall reminder
- Accurately document patient recall process.
- Follow-up of returned mail.

- Comply with One GI procedures, policies, and regulations relevant to your role. Undertake relevant training on One GI policies and procedures as delivered by your line manager
- Successfully completes all One GI training requirements (i.e. OSHA, HIPAA, HealthStream, compliance, etc.)
- Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements and/or guidelines. These requirements/guidelines include, but are not limited to: OSHA, HIPAA, Federal Fraud and Abuse laws
- Computer skills – good working knowledge of MS office
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
- Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritize
- Able to maintain standards and professionalism during periods of fluctuating workloads
- Provide professional service to direct customers of One GI in all interactions.
- Build effective working relationships with other team members.
- Manage daily tasks to ensure business needs are consistently met.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical records experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology a plus.
