As a Medical Records scanner, you will be responsible for obtaining, organizing, and digitizing medical record documentation for various clients and facilities. This role requires proficiency in document management, attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards.
This is a temporary, part-time position with the possibility of becoming permanent part-time.
Responsibilities
- Obtain medical record documentation from computer systems or paper charts according to client and facility requirements.
- Identify the types of documents needed and ensure comprehensive collection.
- Extract Medical Records onto encrypted thumb drives or via SFTP provisioned by the company, ensuring secure transfer.
- Utilize portable scanners to convert paper health records into electronic health records onsite.
- Conduct quality checks on scanned documentation to maintain readability and legibility.
- Review downloaded records to ensure file integrity and absence of corruption.
- Compress files into PDF format before uploading them to the company's computer system.
- Coordinate scanning visits in accordance with clinic office staff availability.
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule to accommodate urgent deadlines.
- Review scanned files for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments as needed.
- Additional duties as necessary to meet the obligations to our clients.
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in Medical Records management or scanning preferred.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and document management software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Location
- New York City
- Daily travel is required to various sites and personal automobile will be required where public transportation is not available/used.
