Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our team. The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient Medical Records in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of medical terminology, Medical Records management, and experience working in a medical office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain patient Medical Records in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all Medical Records
- Retrieve and file Medical Records as needed
- Prepare Medical Records for patient appointments and ensure they are readily accessible
- Scan and upload paper documents into electronic health record systems
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information at all times
- Assist with the release of Medical Records to authorized individuals or organizations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate documentation and record keeping
Skills:
- Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical abbreviations
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems and other medical record management software
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
