```Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk - Check in/out to join our team. The Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for maintaining and organizing patient Medical Records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. This role requires strong administrative skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities (not limited):
- Organize and maintain patient Medical Records in accordance with established procedures and regulations
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all Medical Records, including patient demographics, medical history, test results, and treatment plans
- Retrieve and file Medical Records as needed for patient appointments, referrals, or other healthcare providers
- Process requests for release of Medical Records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Scan and upload paper documents into electronic health record systems
- Assist with coding and indexing Medical Records for billing purposes
- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers as needed
Responsibilities may also include:
- Collect co - insurance/Copays/Patient balances.
- Answer phone, take messages and return messages.
- Schedule appointments, tests and outside referrals.
- Fill out business or government forms, greet customers, guests, visitors, or passengers, maintain records, reports, or files, provide guests with assistance, use knowledge of written communication in sales work, knowledge of supplements and products for sale (preferred), schedule appointments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus
- Proven experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems (EHRs) such as ECW
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
