PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR
OVERVIEW:
The Practice Administrator is responsible for the global day-to-day operations of the practice. Ensuring the goals of the practice are met in the most economically efficient manner while promoting the best patient care that can be provided. Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Practice Administrator facilitates an environment that encourages cohesive teamwork to support the physicians and physician extenders of the practice to achieve their daily goals.
Planning: Responsible for the practice’s long and short-term business planning. Recommends financial and non-financial objectives for the practice. Specifically includes:
· Establishing planning procedures which modify objectives over time
· Communicating objectives to all personnel
· Implementing procedures to accomplish the objectives
· Monitoring and reporting progress
Personnel: Responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining all personnel. Recommends and administers all compensation and other personnel policies of the practice. Specifically includes:
· Developing and recommending base, bonus, and benefit compensation plans
· Developing and recommending recruitment of physicians, clinical and administrative personnel
· Administering periodic reviews and evaluations of all personnel
· Establishes job descriptions and procedures manuals
· Directly supervises the personnel within the practice
Financial Reporting: Responsible for all financial planning, results, reporting, and recordkeeping activities. Specifically includes:
· Pursues financial incentives, as feasible and productive, available through federal and state administered programs as well as insurance payers.
· Evaluates and makes recommendations related to profitability of ancillaries and departmental lines of business.
· Preparing an annual business plan and budget
· Supervising the monthly preparation of reports
· Establishing procedures to manage A/R to industry benchmarks or better
· Implementing bookkeeping, accounts receivable, accounts payable, timekeeping and payroll systems.
Marketing: Responsible for monitoring the marketing activities of the practice. Specifically includes:
· Maintaining positive relationships with hospital, healthcare facilities, payers, pharmaceuticals and other entities with whom the practice has integral connections.
· Developing business development and group contracting goals for practice
· Pursuing, analyzing and recommending contracting opportunities with insurance companies
· Developing a positive patient relations philosophy for all personnel
· Evaluation of business promotion expenses and purposes
· Overseeing marketing activities in all forms including social media.
Physical Plant: Responsible for purchasing, contracting for, and maintaining the office space, furniture, equipment, supplies, and other property required in the conduct of the practice’s business. Specifically includes:
· Projecting office space, equipment and other physical requirements
· Adopting maintenance procedures
· Establishing budgets for equipment, space, etc.
· Establishing purchasing procedures
· Establishing internal housekeeping requirements for overall office appearance and enforcement procedures
Quality Control: Responsible for improving the quality of performance of all non-medical personnel. With respect to clinical staff, the administrator works with the physicians to organize and monitor work flow and to achieve quality medical services in the most expeditious manner. Specifically includes:
· Establishing training programs and maintaining manuals
· Creating orientation programs for personnel
· Handling internal and external complaints
· Establishing job descriptions
Compliance: Responsible for overall administration of and adherence to compliance programs with local, state and federal regulations. Works with Board of Directors, legal and financial advisors, management team and staff to maintain training and effective compliance programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
An undergraduate degree in management, business or related field of study and five to seven years of experience are preferred. Graduate degree preferred.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
