The Neurology Center (NCPA) is currently seeking an Office Specialist. It is a full time position that will work out of our clinic in Chevy Chase, MD. NCPA is the premier single specialty provider of neurological services in the Washington DC metro area. With 7 clinical locations including a sleep center, we provide convenient, state of the art services to our patients, referring physicians and community. We offer competitive pay and full benefits. PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide various administrative duties to assist the physicians and patients within the office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Answers telephones, screens calls for physicians, relays information and takes messages.
2. Prepares appointment schedules and fee slips, and confirms appointments.
3. Makes appointments and oversees doctor’s computer schedule.
4. Prepares charts for next day’s appointments.
5. Completes pre-authorizations in a timely manner.
6. Authorizes prescription refills according to practice guidelines and documents the patient’s chart accordingly.
7. Retrieves medical records related to correspondence, telephone calls and appointments.
8. File correspondence and a variety of related materials.
9. Assists in maintenance of supplies, examination rooms, waiting areas and work station.
10. Greets, directs and provides information for patients.
11. Assists physicians as requested.
12. Compliant with HIPAA, NCPA’s Compliance Plan and Code of Conduct policies and other company training.
13. Other duties as assigned.
REPORTS TO: Office Manager
QUALIFICATION:
1. High school diploma
2. Two years of experience in a physician’s office.
3. Light typing experience, excellent spelling and medical terminology
4. EMR experience
5. Good customer service and proper phone etiquette
