Gundersen Health System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Onalaska laboratory team. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will play a crucial role in performing various laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. You will also provide float support to our Sparta, Tomah, La Crescent, and Spring Grove regional lab locations. ASCP certification is not required.
What You'll Do:
You will perform routine laboratory testing on a variety of specimens and demonstrate competency within the full scope of laboratory procedures, chemical, microscopic, bacteriologic, molecular, and transfusion medicine. You will analyze information, monitor quality performance, and take action to ensure the efficient delivery of accurate and timely laboratory test results and services. This position will also be responsible for the development and implementation of laboratory procedures, as well as the maintenance of quality control in the laboratory understanding the requirements and standards of regulating agencies to ensure compliance within the laboratory. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our lab at the Onalaska Clinic, floating to our Sparta, Tomah, La Crescent, and Spring Grove Clinics as needed.
What's Available:
- Part-time - 40 hours biweekly (0.5 FTE); will orientate fulltime
- 8hr variable day and evening shifts with every 4th weekend and 2 holidays per year rotation
- Primarily based in Onalaska but will float to regional labs including Sparta, Tomah, La Crescent, and Spring Grove, as needed
- Starting pay of $26.87 and up, based on years of experience, plus applicable shift differentials
- Travel time and mileage reimbursement when supporting our regional labs
What You'll Need:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, including blood sampling, specimen collection, processing, and analysis
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- ASCP Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certification is preferred but not required
