Medical Lab Scientists - 2Nd Shift.

Spherion is partnering with Exact Sciences to recruit Medical Lab Scientists (known internally as Clinical Lab Scientists) for their world-class laboratory! This innovative, global cancer research company is headquartered in Madison, WI and they are deeply invested in the local communities in which they live and work.

Highlights:

• Temporary, approximately 6 months in duration
• Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Pay Rate: $25/hour base pay + shift differentials
• 3 weeks of mandatory training, Monday- Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 am to 9:30 pm (Badger Rd. and Forward Dr.)

Responsibilities:

• Follow lab SOPs to perform moderate to highly complex testing/analysis of specimens
• Accurately perform, review, and document quality control procedures
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
• Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing
• Identify and troubleshoot basic problems that adversely affect test performance
• Maintain impeccable quality, identify/communicate issues that may impact quality
• Manage daily test processing needs and project needs
• Participate in quality assurance and inspection preparation activities
• Meet productivity and TAT expectations
• Participate in testing and validation of new laboratory equipment and procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience: 60 semester hours or equivalent that, at a minimum, includes either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination
• 18+ years of age and able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with patient information

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution: For degrees not listed, 90 semester hours which must include 16 semester hours in chemistry (6 of which must be in inorganic chemistry), 16 semester hours in biology, and 3 semester hours of math
• Experience in molecular testing

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motions
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as you may be exposed to hazardous materials
