Medical Lab Tech

Work Schedule:

This is a part time FTE .80 position. Hours are Monday - Thursday,  3:00pm - 9:30pm, Friday 1:00pm - 9:30pm, rotating on call weekends, possible holidays. Hours may vary based on operational needs of the department.

Pay:

• External hires may be eligible for up to a $2400 sign on bonus.

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to:

• Perform moderately complex diagnostic tests and limited high complexity testing.
• Perform preventative maintenance on select laboratory equipment or instruments.
• Perform troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments.
• Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Education:

Minimum - Associate degree in laboratory science or Medical Laboratory technology.

OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either:

            24 semester hours of Medical Laboratory technology courses or

            24 semester hours of science courses

Preferred - Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science (biology)

Work Experience:

Preferred - One year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

Preferred - Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency
