Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Intensive Care Nurse to join our healthcare team. The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing, with expertise in managing patients requiring advanced interventions such as central lines, ventilators, and ICU cardiac telemetry.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients and assist physicians with patient care in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
- Plan, implement, and document nursing care based on patient's needs and acuity level.
- Identify patient needs and determine priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and ongoing assessments.
- Initiate assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
- Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients, including administering blood transfusions when necessary.
- Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
- Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards and support adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
- Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2-3 years of prior strong Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience required.
- Strong experience with central lines, ventilators, and ICU cardiac telemetry.
- Competence in administering blood transfusions.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of [Specify state].
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
