Overview
We're looking for a Medical Coder to join our team.
You will directly report to Billing Manager. You will be responsible for conducting coding activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
100% remote position.
- Identifies actual or possible coding errors by review of diagnosis lists.
- Recognizes diagnoses documented within medical records other than from a diagnosis list.
- Demonstrates accurate coding practices and excellent customer service skills to assist branches with hospice diagnosis coding.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and Coding Conventions
- Ability to find and confirm diagnosis codes using a coding manual or established electronic ICD-10 database
- Ability to educate and train others on coding guidelines
- Desired: Four years recent full-time ICD-10-CM coding in home health or hospice
- Considered: Two years or less recent of full-time ICD-10-CM coding for home health or hospice
- At least one of the following active credentials:
- HCS-H
- HCS-D
- BCHH-C
- AAPC
