Medical Billing Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a medical biller . This is a mental health practice with a psychiatrist , CRNP and neuromodulation program treating depression and anxiety disorders.

The position is ON SITE in Huntsville, AL. The standard work schedule is 4-5 days a week, can be flexible hours

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate billing BCBS, Tricare and other major insurance carriers
• Process primary and secondary insurance claims (including pulling of EOBs for secondary claims)
• Post payments to patient accounts
• Maintain and evaluate daily/weekly audit trails and rejections
• Answer billing calls from patients and assist with account resolution
• Process claims, referrals, crossovers and authorizations
• Maintains and monitors listing of ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE- weekly/ monthly
• Print records requested for proper claims processing
• Insurance verification, deductible, and copay knowledge
• Ability to master our EHR computer system
• Ability to utilize software applications to process claims, research statements, and research accounts
• Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written for clear, legible messages
• Pleasant, friendly demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and all incoming callers and insurance representatives
• Schedule appointments as needed
• Assist with any other task assigned
• Work directly with insurance companies
• Update patient’s insurance coverage
• Call patients to reschedule appointments if needed
• Knowledge of data entry and GOOGLE WORKSPACE
• Maintain and follow HIPAA policies and procedures
