Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries and disputes
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Utilize Medical Billing software and systems to input and update patient information
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
