- Review and verify medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10 coding systems
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing issues
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain patient billing records and update information as needed
- Provide support to patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely billing
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Medical Billing or related field
- Proficient in medical terminology, coding, and billing procedures
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems
- Familiarity with Medical Billing software systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
