Medical Biller Specialist

IN OFFICE HOURS

Monday-Thursday 8:00am-5:00pm

Friday 8:00am-12:00pm

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Checking eligibility and benefits verification for treatments and procedures

• Obtaining maximum reimbursement for services

• Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software

• Researching and appealing denied claims within standard billing cycle timeframe

• Checking insurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contract discount

• Calling insurance companies regarding discrepancies in payments if necessary

• Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances

• Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries

• Setting up patient payment plans

• Working collection accounts

REQUIREMENTS

• At least an Associate’s degree or higher

• Minimum of 1 year of Medical Billing or Coding

PREFERRED

• Experience with Athena

• Computer proficiency - Word, Excel

• Experience with an electronic health records system
