Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing processes. Responsibilities: - Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems - Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, including appeals and resubmissions - Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients - Process payments from insurance companies and patients - Maintain accurate patient records, including demographic information, insurance details, and billing history - Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or coding issues - Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing/Coding is preferred - Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role - Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and billing processes - Familiarity with medical collection practices and procedures - Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and billing software - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
