The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) is the nation's voice for community banks with its mission to create and promote an environment where community banks flourish. What Is a Community Bank? A community bank is a depository or lending institution that primarily serves businesses and individuals in a small geographic area. Community banks tend to emphasize personal relationships with their customers.
The 2024 ICBA Summer Intern program will run from June 3 to August 2. The program will be a learning experience and help you gain valuable job experience and develop essential skills. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership, work on meaningful projects, participate in learning and development opportunities and join in networking and social events with other team members and fellow interns. Our goal is to have a hybrid program that will be both virtual and in-person with at least one day per week in the office. Final determination will be made closer to the program start date.
Summary:
The ICBA Innovation team is looking for an enthusiastic intern to support its vendor engagement and ThinkTECH initiatives.
In this position, an intern will develop business, marketing, and relationship management skills while supporting ICBA Innovation initiatives including Corporate Membership, the Preferred Service Provider, and ThinkTECH Accelerator programs. The incumbent will support ongoing projects including data management, pipeline development, company prospecting and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Below is a sample of projects an Innovation intern may work on.
- Draft correspondences to external Innovation colleagues (ThinkTECH companies, Corporate Members, and more) as needed.
- Assist with the assignment of investment agreements between ICBA, ICBA Ventures LLC, and ICBA portfolio companies
- Perform data collection, clean up, and standardization for ICBA Innovation programming.
- Review, revise, and schedule vendor-submitted content for ICBA e-newsletters and other publications.
- Develop and share weekly activity reports of key program performance indicators for Innovation programs.
- Develop a pipeline and process for tracking future ThinkTECH cohort prospects.
- Source ideas and potential subject matter experts that enhance ability of fintech cohort companies to engage with community banking ecosystem.
- Intern is expected to work 40 hours per week on average. Schedule is flexible within regular working hours so long as project and meeting obligations are met. Most work will be done remotely with occasional hours in ICBA's Atlanta office.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing an undergraduate degree with a major in Marketing, Communications, or Business
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Prefer junior or senior, but will consider other class levels
- An interest in communications, marketing, and creative solutions
- Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
