Toledo Clinic's Family Practice office located in Woodville OH is seeking a full-time Clerical Medical Assistant to work in the front office. This position will back up the clinical staff when needed but the primary responsibilities will be at the front desk. Qualified candidates will have an active RMA/CMA/CCMA or be able to obtain a credential within 60 days of hire.
Hours are M/W (8:15-5:00), T (8:15-3:30), Th (8:15-5:30), and F (8:15-2:00). Employee benefits are offered. No weekends or evening shifts.

Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager

Required:
- Excellent communication and organizational skills required.
- Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Registration or Certification as a Medical Assistant
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
- Medical Assisting Credential (ie: RMA, CMA, CCMA)
Education:
- Medical Assisting degree or diploma required.
Preferred:
- Previous clerical experience in a medical office.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Example of Essential Duties:
- Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
- Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
- Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record.
- Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
- Updating insurance information.
- Escorting patients to exam rooms.
- Preparing and maintaining exam rooms.
Other Essential Duties May Include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting physician with minor procedures.
- Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, histories, etc.).
- Answering patient questions at the request of the physician.
- Other duties as assigned.
