As a Records Clerk & Medical Assistant with our group, you will be responsible for providing administrative & clinical support to ensure efficient operation of the Admin office & the hospital. You will support Providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, documentation and record keeping, organization and communication. Insurance verification's, obtaining pre-authorizations and updating critical clinical/demographic information daily as part of the job description. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. We are searching for a reliable individual who is a self starter with experience, who can ALSO assist our inpatient clinical providers providing medical care to psych pts. in a inpatient Acute Psychiatric Hospital.
Schedule is Sat, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
Organizational skills, flexibility and ability to work with multiple providers are required.
Must have the minimum of 1 year of Back Office or Front Office experience to apply. Knowledge of HIPPA, universal precautions and history working with individuals with psychiatric issues a plus. Spanish speaking a plus. Must be be able to pass a thorough background check that the group AND the hospital will conduct. Must have a Medical assistant Certificate or Degree to be eligible for the position.
Responsibilities
- Document basic medical history
- Update and file medical records and insurance information/ reports
- Locate & Upload patients charts
- Assist during medical examinations as needed, often acting as a chaperone for sensitive examinations.
- Produce, update and distribute correspondence to include memos, letters, faxes and various forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in patient management software
- Degree/Certificate in medical assistance
