Back Office Medical Assistant

Requirements: Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or related Nursing Program, State or National Certification, and/or License or Military experience equivalent. Previous experience in a specialty medical office required, preferably Urology or OB-Gyn.

Job Summary: This position requires direct patient care, assisting the physician with in office surgical procedures and supporting the lead Medical Assistant in daily duties such as administering injections, taking vitals, submitting the physician's orders for laboratory testing, scanning medical documents into the EMR, prior authorization for medications, ordering medical supplies, cleaning and preparing examination rooms, conduct automated urinalysis and must have an understanding of sterile technique . Position requires exceptional attention to details and self-motivation. Must be able to work independently and possess excellent communication skills.

Duties:

· Triage·

· Obtaining Clinical history and vitals

· Preparation and assisting in physical exams and procedures

· Under the direction of the physician, perform catheter insertion, removal and patient education

· Administration of injections

· Assist in Cystoscopy, Ureteral Dilation, Prostate Biopsy, minor surgical procedures and circumcision

· Handling and preparing samples for cytology/pathology

· Prescription refills and prior authorizations

· Maintain lab and office equipment per OSHA standards

· Managing, ordering and maintaining clinical office supplies, including injectable drugs, surgical instruments and procedure equipment

· Act as a liaison between patient and physician, answering questions and patient education

· Medical record management, knowledge of electronic medical records, scheduling and general computer skills

· Implement and follow a team approach and exceptional standard of care

Salary base on experience TBD

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
