The Medical Assistant Trainer provides clinical training to support to our Knoxville area practices and works in partnership with the Clinical Supervisors within the practice(s) to provide standardized training to new hires as well as existing clinical staff. This position's home office will be at our clinic in Farragut. However, travel between the other offices within Knoxville (Dowell Springs Blvd & UT) , Powell & Alcoa will be required.
- Train new Medical Assistants on EMA & Nextgen systems
- Creates training materials; provides resources to staff and provides regular training as indicated.
- Participate in the training plan development and implementation for other essential components of clinical support, ex: intake, education, point of care testing, quality assurance.
- Implement ongoing training programs for existing MAs. Periodically assess MA skills, providing re-training as needed.
- Remain fluent in AAD policies and procedures.
- Function in a Medical Assistant capacity when needed.
- Assists physician during clinic, including with designated procedures.
- At least 2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant in dermatology is required.
- Experience with EMA and/or Nextgen systems is strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the greater Knoxville market is required.
- Experience training or coaching others is strongly preferred.
- An ability to work independently, excellent communications skills, organizational skills and flexibility required.
- Professionalism and strong customer service skills is a must.
