A day in the life of a Medical Assistant
In this entry-level position within a School Health clinic, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in providing services that prioritize the good health and wellness of students, as well as the improvement of overall health conditions.
- Monitoring student health needs, providing appropriate health interventions and services, administering prescribed medications in accordance with school board and PSI policies, providing first aid, and assisting with screening programs and School Health initiatives.
- Interacting, warmly, with the children, always serving them with patience and kindness.
What is Required to be a Medical Assistant at PSI
To qualify, you need a diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Experience in caring for children is strongly preferred, and knowledge of communicable disease prevention and medication protocols is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA laws and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately are also requirements. We value collaborative and constructive team-building skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management abilities.
