Job Description
Westmed Medical Group is recruiting for a full-time Medical Assistant for the Pain Management team located in Yonkers NY. The Medical Assistant works as part of a health care team by assisting the physician in providing high quality patient care in a professional, efficient and safe manner. The Medical Assistant will also provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to patients.
Site Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Job Description
Westmed Medical Group is recruiting for a full-time Medical Assistant for the Pain Management team located in Yonkers NY. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
OFFICE VISITS:
- Introduces self to patient while escorting patient into exam room
- Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height, as needed
- Assist patient and physician throughout the visit
- Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately
- Maintains clean patient exam rooms
- Assemble and use equipment appropriate to specific medical practice
- Prepare instruments for sterilization and dispose of contaminated supplies, as needed
- Communicates delays effectively when necessary
- Manage time efficiently for the practice to maintain patient flow
MISCELLANEOUS:
- Provides clerical support to patients such as but not limited to making appointments, booking procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations and answering telephones
- Manages medical inventory and supply ordering based on par levels
- Keep relevant knowledge up-to-date and apply to everyday practice
- Effectively communicates with all team members to support a cohesive work environment
CHARTING:
- Enters patient information into the computer accurately
- Manages the physician's desktop accurately and in a timely and efficient manner
Required Qualifications:
- Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant or phlebotomy program
- Medical office experience preferred
- Must be able to multitask in a high volume, fast-paced environment
- Phlebotomy certification and experience is a plus
- Demonstrates positive attitude and excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong computer skills, EMR experience preferred
