Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Full-time Orthopedic Technician position in Dumfries, Virginia in support of A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center (formally Fort Belvoir Community Hospital).

Responsibilities:
Greet and check patients in and provide instruction and information on scheduled procedures.
Maintain safe and clean working environment. Ensure supply area is kept stocked and clutter-free.
Responsible for the purchase requisitions/restocking, receipts, issue, and inventory of medical and non-medical supplies and equipment.
Act as liaison between patients and the primary professional medical care provider.
Assist health care provider to examine or treat patients.
Take and record vital signs and medical histories, order radiologic exams, verify upcoming appointments, and otherwise prepare patients for examination.
Applying and removing casts and splints and preparing medications for provider use.
Applies orthopedic splints as prescribed by Provider.
Uses safe practices and observes safety measures in the performance of all duties.
Performs administrative tasks, as assigned, e.g., prepares a variety of recurring and special reports; maintains inventory of stock items, orders supplies as needed, assists with incoming inventory as needed.
Requirements:
- Required: Graduated from a medical assistant program
- Required: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a medical assistant with orthopedic training
- Required: Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) certification
- Recent experience with casting/DME preferred
- Required: U.S. Citizen
