This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8am-4:30pm. Located at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla.

- We are the largest OB/GYN site for our division within Scripps Clinic.
- We currently have 7 MD’s, 1 Certified Nurse Mid Wife, 1 PA and 1 FNP-C.
- We are a very team oriented office, patient/customer service driven and are a very communicative office.
- Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis
- Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
- Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
- Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
- Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
- Collecting patient data in person and by phone
- Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
- Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
- Scheduling of appointments and procedures
- Complete and accurate message taking
- Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
- Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
- Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
Required Certification/Registration:
- BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting
- OBGYN clinic experience
