We are currently looking for a full time (80 hours per pay period - benefit eligible) Medical Assistant in our new Urgent Care Department (opening January 2024)
Applicants do not need previous experience or training/certification as a Medical Assistant but need to meet the requirements below.
As a medical assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care. You will support clinicians and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vitals and document findings in the patient chart
- Review annual wellness questionaire with appropriate patients
- Administer immunizations
- Monitor messages and relay clinician responses via phone calls
- Enter orders for laboratory services
Required Qualifications:
- Current BLS certification - must be through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assstant program with or without certification (AAMA or AMT) or current LPN (WI License required).
- Clear and helpful communications skills, teamwork and positive interpersonal relationships skills
Preferred Qualifications
- One year Medical Assistant or LPN experience in a clinic preferred
- Excellent verbal and written skills, tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions with patients/families/clinic staff members
- An aability to demonstrate compassion and caring in all interactions
- Understanding of patient education needs able to effectively shared information wiht patients, family members and clinic staff as needed
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks
- Ability to remain calm in stressfull situations
- Experience with EPIC preferred
