One of the premier general surgery clinics in Fort Bend County is seeking a Medical Assistant II & Surgery Scheduler who will perform essential patient care and assist clerical and administrative staff with scheduling procedures and appointments. Medical Assistant II’s Responsibilities
- Perform routine care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collecting specimens, and wound care.
- Schedule procedures, diagnostic tests, and pre-op/post-op appointments.
- Ensure all patient paperwork is completed for surgeries.
- Review patients’ medications list and identify any medications that require attention before the procedure.
Medical Assistant II’s Qualifications
- Certification from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program is required.
- Three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant is required; Surgery Scheduler experience is highly preferred but not required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is not required but preferred.
- Experience with Epic: EMR Program is strongly preferred.
- COVID-19 Vaccination is required.
