Job Description
Location: Saxon MD Facial Plastic Surgery - 13341 W. Hwy 290, Bldg 8, Austin, Texas 78737
- Maintaining standards of cleaning and hygiene throughout the building
- Complies with aspects of Health and Safety legislation such as HIPAA and OSHA
- Coordinates “patient flow” and room moves as required
- Communicates effectively with other team members
- Keeps Dr. Saxon abreast of forthcoming changes in scheduling and gives options for responding to changes
- Ensure all companies, entities, patients, and/or family members are fully informed of procedures; including time, date, location, instructions, and technical needs
- Serve as a direct contact for any patient questions or concerns.
- Schedule surgeries and coordinate between entities
- Ensure payments are collected accurately and recorded in Symplast
- When needed answer multi-line phones and either direct the caller to the appropriate party or handle the caller’s needs yourself
- Schedule follow-up appointments in Symplast and resolves any scheduling conflicts.
- When needed send reminders to patients to confirm appointments the day before scheduled visit
- Follows protocol and billing for no-show patients
- Knowledge of all surgical & non-surgical services required
- Obtains specimens for testing and treatments (i.e. blood, urine, saliva, etc)
- Removes sutures and staples as needed
- Perform blood draws as needed
- Inserts peripheral IV lines as needed
- Obtains before and after photos and uploads them into Symplast
- Maintains inventory of all surgical equipment, instruments, and supplies and communicates with Dr. Saxon when orders need to be placed
- Sterilizes surgical instruments per guidelines
- Sets up procedure room for in-office procedures and assists Dr. Saxon during procedures
- Maintains a neat and organized front office, waiting room, exam room, and all common areas as needed
- Provides patients with intake and new patient forms, as well as copies of our office policies and legally required documents
- Any other tasks as directed by Dr. Saxon
- While seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately
- In the performance of the duties outlined in this Job Description, the post-holder may have access to confidential information relating to patients and their careers, Practice staff and other healthcare workers. They may also have access to information relating to the Practice as a business organization. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential
- Information relating to patients, careers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorized persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
- Use personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines
- Identify the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks
- Use appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
- Report potential risks identified
- Act in a way that recognizes the importance of people’s rights, interpreting them in a way that is consistent with practice procedures and policies, and current legislation
- Respect the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, careers and colleagues
