Job Description
- Provides or assists in provision of age specific patient care for patients in accordance with Policy/Procedures to ensure patients’ rights and safety.
- Maintains open communication with physicians, team, and patients.
- Completes medical record documentation in an accurate/legible fashion that includes all pertinent information, approved SRH abbreviations. Relay instructions to patients and family members per HIPPA guidelines.
- Maintains compliance with EOC standards, DNV. OSHA, DHEC, and other regulatory agencies as well as maintaining personal regulatory requirements such as CPR, Educode, and annual departmental competencies.
- Demonstrates commitment to patient care as indicated by inpatient or outpatient satisfaction.
- Helps ensure service line growth by participating in outreach strategies such as events, screenings, etc.
- Helps to ensure department meets budget goal by volunteering to cross train and down staff.
- Accepts assignments without complaint or follows chain of command to resolve. Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include assisting front office staff with patient demographic, insurance information, and sending/receiving medical records based on patient authorization. Stocking exam / procedure rooms.
- Demonstrates employee engagement by submitting bright ideas for process improvement and supports the implementation of new processes. Provides input for solutions based on departmental needs. Works as a team towards the completion of work, problem solving, and handling conflict. Seeks ways to help others and accepts / provides constructive feedback in a positive / professional manner.
