Responsibilities: - Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures - Take and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse - Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers - Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine tests and blood draws - Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment - Assist with patient education and counseling - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records - Schedule appointments and manage patient flow - Provide medical administrative support, such as answering phone calls and managing paperwork Skills: - X-Ray: Ability to perform basic X-ray procedures and operate X-ray equipment - Medication Administration: Knowledge of medication dosage, routes of administration, and proper documentation - Basic Life Support: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers - Hospital: Familiarity with hospital protocols, procedures, and workflows - Anatomy Knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy and its relevance to medical procedures - Medical Terminology: Proficiency in medical terminology to accurately communicate with healthcare professionals - Patient Care: Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages and backgrounds - Physiology Knowledge: Understanding of human physiology to assess patients' health status accurately - Vital Signs: Proficiency in measuring and interpreting vital signs accurately - Medical Administrative Support: Experience in managing administrative tasks in a medical setting This is a general overview of the responsibilities and skills required for the position of Medical Assistant.
