Job description

Overview
The primary area of responsibility is to design, manage and support the ICCU network & Unified Communication systems through architectural design, operational tasks, troubleshooting issues and assigned projects. This role performs high quality support work, network design, project management, customer service, and interacts between all areas of IT and the business as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Work to achieve team goals, be part of the culture, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Collaborating with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.
  • Installing and configuring networking hardware.
  • Creating and implementing network security measures.
  • Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff.
  • Conducting regular network performance tests.
  • Delegating networking maintenance tasks to junior staff.
  • Dealing with escalated network support issues.
  • Drawing up network status reports.
  • Prioritize individual work and be accountable for that work through tickets and appropriate follow-up.
  • Develop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.
  • Design computer security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
  • Identify, define, and document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.
  • Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.
  • Complete assigned projects on schedule and in accordance with ICCU standards.
  • Work with other teams to determine project business requirements, propose and write recommendations for solutions and develop new processes to achieve improved efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain thorough project plans including project scope, deliverables, schedule, resources, budget, acceptance criteria (including success metrics), and manage comprehensive communication plans.
  • Conduct vendor management and maintain professional relationships with vendors.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with credit union team members and 3rd party vendors to implement solutions to satisfy business requirements while maintaining a vision (road map) for future needs.
  • Write technical policies, procedures and documentation for systems implemented including user guides, troubleshooting guides, etc.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external team members.
  • Manage system issues and ensure they are resolved in a timely and quality manner.
  • Design, manage, implement, and maintain all aspects of the ICCU network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and internet filters and phone systems as outlined by ICCU's architecture documents.
  • Update the network documentation, provide change control oversight within team and department.
  • Provide high level troubleshooting guidance for the Network Team.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal management oversight.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum 10+ years of relevant IT work experience in complex networking, security, and voice technologies. Ability to lead communication with Executive Management, Credit Union personnel effectively through customized reports. CCNP level certifications required. PCNSA/PCNSE certification preferred. Project management experience. Previous work experience as a networking engineer. Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, Palo Alto, and IOS. Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers. Familiarity with communication and routing protocols. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills. High level problem-solving and communication skills. Experiencing with design and implementation of network solutions. Experience with firewalls and security hardware. Experience with monitoring and management tools such as Splunk, Site 24x7, SolarWinds. Ability to maintain confidentiality of Credit Union and member records at all times.
Performance Standard:
Must be able to fix complex problems and determine appropriate priorities. Have high attention to detail on many concurrent projects and initiatives. Must have project management experience with demonstrable ability to build project plans, document requirements, and execute on timelines.
Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service. Ability to work without supervision. A demonstrated cooperative and positive attitude toward members and other Credit Union staff. Must be willing to comply with the Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act as implemented by Idaho Central Credit Union.
Position Specific Additional Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work all hours of the day onsite and remote.

Physical Requirements:
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity (processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, collating, typing, counting cash, etc.).
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Lift 20-40 pounds of applicable supplies including but not limited to copy paper, cash drawers, marketing material, etc.
  • Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Reach keyboards.
  • Ability to operate basic office machines (calculator, computer, telephone, copy machine, fax machine, etc.).
