SpecOrtho is seeking a Full TimeMedical Assistant Monday thru Friday to join our growing team. We are an independent, family oriented orthopaedic practice and pride ourselves on the outstanding patient care we provide. This position requires someone who is customer service focused. You will support our providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare daily intake sheets and needed documentation
- Assign patients to available rooms
- Take patient histories, performing vitals signs and gather relevant clinical information
- Enter appropriate clinical information into patient's electronic chart
- Perform basic clinical assessments
- Determine if x-ray is required, coordinate with Rad Tech when appropriate
- Remove dressings / stitches
- Prepare injection kit
- Assist with casting / splinting / bracing
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Handle clinical calls and follow up with patients
- Assist with prescription requests electronically, fax or verbally.
- Prep labs and send away as needed
- Manage equipment and supply inventory
- Serve as a liaison between physicians and other individuals such as patients and team members
Prefer candidates with:
- 1-2 years medical office experience -or- Medical Assistant certificate
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficient with typing / data entry
- Clinical interest in orthopaedics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
