SalaryWe are currently welcoming applications for two full-time Medical Assistants with experience to join our team. The Medical Assistant assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician. We are seeking two energetic, positive, team oriented and friendly people!
Position Description:
The Medical Assistant will assist the physician in coordinating care patient care in the office for a busy cardiology, Pulmonary and Sleep office. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare patient for exam and treatment by documenting height, weight, vital signs, symptoms and chief complaint in electronic medical record.
- Minor in-office procedures which could include respiration and heart rate/pulse, performing spirometry and oxywalks.
- Prescription refills.
- Administering injections.
- Responding to patient calls.
- Maintaining supplies in exam room.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant; preferably in a Cardiology, Pulmonary and / or Sleep setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Electronic Medical Records proficiency: Cerner preferred.
- Experience administering injections.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
- The desire to work in a fast pace environment.
- The ability to communicate clearly to patients and fellow staff members both verbally and in writing.
Educational Requirement:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certificate preferred
- A valid CPR card
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
