Medical Assistant

Full-time Medical Assistant needed for Dermatology practice located in Wellington.

Job Description

• **This position will mostly be doing back office paperwork**
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist the Physician in exam rooms
• Verify patient information recording medical history and confirm purpose of visit
• Explain medical procedures to patients
• Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
• Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies
• Maintain patient medical records and update patient files as needed
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physician and physicians assistants
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• All other duties as assigned by the Physician

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
