Summary
The Medical Assistant works directly with our providers and medical team to deliver exceptional, individualized patient care. The person in this role is responsible for rooming patients, taking height and weight and blood pressure and ordering x-rays, as well as entering accurate patient history into the Electronic Health Record. The Medical Assistant promptly communicates with the medical team and patients regarding any requests or patients changes. The right person for this role will be team oriented, service-minded and empathetic in their approach to our patients and their families.
Essential Functions
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers through prompt response and courteous communication.
• Communicates effectively with all levels - patients, co-workers, supervisors and physicians, both verbally and in writing.
• Assist and coordinate patient/clinic flow.
• Responsible for rooming patients, taking Height and Weight, ordering x-rays
• Pulls reports/films for test appointments
• Enters and verifies PFSH/HIA in the electronic health record.
• Facilitate patient’s care by completing all entry of patient information into the chart by the end of the day.
• Coordinates with other departments or physician offices.

• Assists in the evaluation, development and effectiveness of systems and protocols.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
• Other duties as assigned.
Pay Information: $16.53 to $24.80/hourly, based on experience.
Requirements:Knowledge/Skills Abilities Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification and 2 years medical office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of EHR system.
- Type at least 40 WPM.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to spell accurately.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
