Medical Assistant

Responsibilities: - Perform basic clinical tasks, including taking vital signs, collecting patient history, and preparing patients for examinations - Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers - Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care - Conduct basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing - Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) and other diagnostic procedures - Provide patient education on treatment plans, medications, and preventive measures - Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records - Assist with medical coding and billing processes - Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure efficient clinic operations - Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their comfort Skills: - Proficiency in medication administration and dosage calculations - Strong patient service skills, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism - Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and ability to respond to medical emergencies - Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology - Familiarity with medical coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT) - Ability to perform X-rays (if applicable to the role) - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred - Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant is highly desirable - Previous experience working in a medical setting is preferred but not required We offer competitive compensation packages including benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
