Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant position:

DuPont Institute ( https://www.dupontinstitute.com/), located in Chevy Chase, MD, is seeking to hire a full-time Medical Assistant (MA). This is a urology and urogynecology practice, which specializes in intimate health, cosmetic gynecology, and minimally invasive aesthetic procedures.

This position is for an individual interested in entering the health field and is interested in eventually attending medical, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner school. This is not a permanent professional position. It’s for applicants who have finished undergraduate studies and are taking a gap year or two before moving on to graduate/medical school.

I'm looking for a motivated individual who will be involved in all aspects of medical and surgical practice. This is a great opportunity to have exposure to medicine and surgery, patient care, and all aspects of medical practice. Prior medical experience is not necessary; we will teach you everything there is to know.

The Medical Assistant will be interacting with patients, obtaining vital signs, and taking patient histories. The MA will be answering phones, serving as a first contact for patients interested in making a medical appointment. The MA will assist with getting patients ready for their appointment/procedure, calling in prescriptions, running different urological tests, assisting with minor surgeries, and preparing test results; The MA will assist patients in making follow-up appointments and scheduling various tests. You will be working with Dr. DuPont who has more than 20 years of experience in the field and will have the opportunity to shadow and work directly with the physicians and patients.

Requirements include:

1) Completion of undergraduate studies

2) A minimum one-year work commitment

3) Fluency in English

4) Excellent typing skills

5) Excellent communication skills

6) Honesty, integrity, and a willingness to learn and work hard.

7) Multitasking skills

9) Adeptness with social media is encouraged
