We expect nothing less than 100% effort and consistency in the positions we are looking to fill. In the capacity of Media Relations Specialist, you will report directly to the Manager of Marketing.
Onsite, Full-Time Position. Monday-Friday.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Audience Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of media outlets and personalities crucial to our clients and partners in the EV/EVSE sector and related verticals.
- Media Contact Identification: Identify key media contacts across traditional, digital, and social media, focusing on outlets influential in the clean energy and technology industries.
- Media Relationship Building: Forge strong relationships with targeted media contacts and outlets, including traditional media and digital platforms like social media influencers, podcasters, and niche industry forums.
- Content Collaboration: Work closely with our content writer to craft compelling pitches and press releases that spotlight new developments within Chargetronix and ZIEG.
- Proactive Media Engagement: Anticipate media needs with engaging pitches to secure consistent media placement, focusing on brand value and industry advancements.
- Messaging Strategy: Create messaging strategies that effectively convey our brand’s value proposition and resonate with our target audiences, particularly in the B2B technology and green technology sectors.
- Earned Media Coverage: Secure earned media coverage, targeting B2B publications and websites relevant to our key audiences.
- Media Interaction: Respond promptly and effectively to media inquiries and interview requests, in collaboration with the marketing manager.
- PR Event Assistance: Assist in planning and executing PR events and integrated social media strategies.
- Awards Identification: Identify and submit for industry awards that align with our strategic goals and enhance brand recognition.
- Media Coverage Tracking: Monitor and report on media coverage, providing actionable analytics and metrics on PR efforts.
- Annual PR Planning: Support the marketing manager in developing and updating annual PR plans and timelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in Media Relations, PR, or journalism, with a preference for prior experience in Media Relations.
- Storytelling Skills: Exceptional ability to craft and convey narratives across various mediums including written content, visuals, video, and multimedia. Proven track record of engaging diverse audiences through creative content strategies.
- Fast-Paced Environment Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced news environment, working towards both short-term and long-term goals.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent personal skills and the ability to build rapport with media and industry contacts.
- Digital and Social Media Proficiency: Strong understanding and savvy use of digital and social media platforms.
- Technical Translation: Ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts to general audiences.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: At least one year of experience in the EV/EVSE industry.
- Background: Experience in B2B tech, greentech, and/or electrical engineering sectors.
- Strategic Approach: Demonstrated strategic thinking and implementation in previous roles.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the EV/EVSE industry or a strong interest in clean technology and sustainable practices.
